Step 1… done!… Step 2… here I come!

Today I finished and passed my final online exam for my scuba diving certification. The day after tomorrow I go to a Padi site to take my final with them and then spend the day diving in their pool so they can test my skills.

The closer we get to the day we face our fear the bigger the knot tends to grow in our stomachs. I’m keeping a step ahead tonight by looking up YouTube videos on scuba diving. I’m actually watching divers off the island of Yap, which is where I will be tested next month. The anticipation of what I will see while scuba diving is helping me to keep fearful, anxious thoughts in check.

And, as always, I have amazing Scriptures to pray like this one…

“You have nothing to fear… when you face stormy seas I will be there with you with endurance and calm.” (Isaiah 43:1-5)

Tonight I thank You, God, that even in my fear You bless me with endurance and calm!
