Moving from Fear to a Sound Mind

With any fear we face in life we have to realize that we are ultimately in control of the thoughts we focus on. We can focus on the fear and continue to tell ourselves that we could never conquer it or we can focus on positive thoughts like our Scripture for today:

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (1 Timothy 1:7, NKJ)

Through His Word, God has given us a new way of thinking. The way to start this process is to pay attention to what we think or say about our fear and intentionally begin to replace them with God’s Word. The way I would do that with this Scripture is “I am not afraid because God’s Spirit in me is giving me a sound mind.”
