Unexpected Prayer – Jasmine’s Journey of Healing
Sometimes the most powerful times of prayer are the unexpected ones. Tonight we went out to eat with my husband’s family. After our meal as we all sat relaxing and talking in the busy restaurant I looked across the table and watched as my 2 daughters talked together. It was in that moment that the Holy Spirit prompted me to pray for them.
As I began to pray Scriptures over them quietly in my heart, I no longer heard the noisiness of the restaurant and was only aware of the Holy Spirit and my daughters.
I found myself thanking God because before they were even born, while they were still in my womb, He spoke their names. (Isaiah 49:1). It warmed my heart as I prayerfully remembered that God has engraved their names, Jasmine & Camilia, on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:16).
The more Scripture I prayed over them the more the Holy Spirit filled my heart with a sense of peace and gratitude. I’m grateful not just because of the gift of these two precious lives, but because His Word says that If I, as their mother, want to give them good gifts how much more will He as their Father give them what they need (Matthew 7:11).
These precious moments with the Holy Spirit and the inspired Word of God teach me how to pray. I am left with a sense of the holiness of a God I can trust and in awe I worship Him.
