Inspiration Fuels the Gift!

I’m in the state of New Hampshire this week with my husband, Chris.  He does a lot of traveling with his business due to the trainings he conducts.  The times when I’m able to accompany him I enjoy my time working on writing books.  My first book, “One Thing I Ask…”, was published last year.  God has put it on my heart to write part 2 and call it “One Thing I Do…”

This book will go deeper into why we need to not only hear, but “do” God’s Word.  I’m really excited to write another book, but I find myself in the same place I was when writing my first book… having to do it in faith because I’m not a naturally gifted writer.

So here I sit in my hotel room realizing that I need to tap into inspiration before beginning the writing process.  I am grateful to God that He has shown me where the greatest inspiration lies… His Word.  I brought a small journal with me where I write out Scriptural prayers of faith and inspirational thoughts that line up with what He is calling me to do.  As I read them I’ll share some with you.

“Whatever I do, I work at it with all my heart.”  (Col. 3:23)

“I make the most of every living and breathing moment… I am confident in God’s will… He fills me with His Spirit.  When I am filled with the Holy Spirit I am empowered to speak, pray, and lead worship with my heart attuned to God.” (prayer based on Eph. 5:16-19)

“My life is echoing God’s Word… I’m the message!”  (1 Thes. 1:8)

“Fear God. Do what he tells you.  And that’s it.”  (Ecc. 12:13)

“In the light of this hope that I have, I act with great confidence and speak with great courage.”  (2 Cor. 3;12)

“You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”  (Eleanor Roosevelt)

As I read through what I’ve written in my journal so far, my faith rises to lay hold of the vision God has set before me.  I am facing my Goliath of fear head on just as David did.  Like Abraham, I am stepping forward to an unknown place that God is calling me to.  I walk by faith and not by sight as Paul admonished us to do.

God honors that type of faith and along with everyone else out there who is doing the impossible in the name of God, He rewards that faith in my life and equips me to do the very thing He has called me to do.

In Jesus’ name…

I work for a doctor's office and it's interesting to observe how people "wait" differently. Some people walk in the door already anxious, asking how long the appointment will take because they have so

How do we bring Scriptures to life within us? There are many beautiful ways to spend time with God through His Word. One of my favorite is to take Scriptures and confess them over my life. For examp
