His Glory and Favor – Jasmine’s Journey of Healing

As God continues to heal Jasmine He is speaking to my heart about what the healing process looks like.  On this journey there is always one question on the back of my mind, “Why is her healing taking time?  God, You are fully capable of healing my daughter in one moment, with one touch, one word.”

Last night I believe that I received part of my answer.  I was listening to an interview with Bill Johnson and this is the main question he was asked,  “Why do some people get an instant miracle and then later their pain returns?”  That question shocked me because I didn’t know that ever happened.  One of Bill’s answers came from this text in Luke 11:24-26 The Passion Translation.

24 “When a demon is cast out of a person, it goes to wander in the waterless realm, searching for rest. But finding no place to rest it says, ‘I will go back to the body of the one I left.’ 25 When it returns, it finds the person like a house that has been swept clean and made tidy but is empty.[a] 26 Then it goes and enlists seven demons more evil than itself, and they all enter and possess the person, leaving that one with a much worse fate than before.”[b]

I’ve also heard Bill speak about the importance of following up with people who have been healed.  They need to be connected with a living church so they can continue to grow in Christ.  It’s not enough to be touched once by God and then go back to living the way we were.  We need to be filled every day with His love and light so that the enemy can’t return.  I’m not suggesting that every sickness is a result of being possessed by the devil, but he certainly is the author of disease and death.

The fact that God wants to speak physical healing over us is wonderful, but the most amazing part of His healing is the blessing of living in the glory of His presence.  I spent some time this morning listening to this song by Kari Jobe on YouTube.  She sings about God’s healing but her main focus is the unimaginable awe of His nearness and being able to hear His voice.

“Speak to me”

Like fireworks Igniting in my chest The weight of Your glory The reverenceI’m in awe that You would come to me In awe that I could hear You speak

I am realizing more and more that as we step forward and ask God to heal,  it is important to pray that as He touches us physically He will also restore our spiritual hearts.  I am praying that each time God speaks physical healing over Jasmine He will also breath into her spiritually.  Paul’s prayers are some of my favorites to pray.Ephesians 3:14-17The Passion Version

” So I kneel humbly in awe before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah… And I pray that he would unveil within Jasmine the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods her innermost being with his divine might and explosive power.  Then, by constantly using her faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside her, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of her life.”

What powerful imagery this shows of a life filled with the glory of God!  This depicts a person who is healed and so full of Jesus’ life that the enemy can’t get back in.

I work for a doctor's office and it's interesting to observe how people "wait" differently. Some people walk in the door already anxious, asking how long the appointment will take because they have so

How do we bring Scriptures to life within us? There are many beautiful ways to spend time with God through His Word. One of my favorite is to take Scriptures and confess them over my life. For examp
