God's in the Laundry Room - Jasmine's Journey of Healing

We pray. We wait. We do our best to listen hoping that eventually we will hear God whisper that answer, guidance, or breakthrough we so desperately need.

A few days ago I found myself not praying or waiting, but worrying. Jasmine told me that she is making plans with a friend in Florida to live with her for the winter. I totally understand the logic behind this because the cold winters of Maryland aggravate her pain terribly. My worry and fear were based on how far away she will be and who will help her on her bad days? I found myself telling my friends about all my concerns and fears. My uncertainties about this move flowed freely from my mouth every time I opened it.

Then God stepped in...

I had just woken up and was doing laundry when the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, "Stop speaking fear and start speaking faith. Don't focus on her disease. Begin speaking her healing." I immediately stopped what I was doing and obeyed that beautiful voice. "God You are Jasmine's healer. I believe that You are healing my daughter." Not one minute after my confession my phone dinged with a text message. My dear friend, Karena (who I hadn't had a chance to voice my fears to yet), texted me "Psalm 107:20 He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions."

Whoa! Talk about God's timing and His response to my confession. It's amazing when we stop and realize how anxious God is for us to get into agreement with His heart through His Word so that He can fulfill His plans in our lives.

I work for a doctor's office and it's interesting to observe how people "wait" differently. Some people walk in the door already anxious, asking how long the appointment will take because they have so

How do we bring Scriptures to life within us? There are many beautiful ways to spend time with God through His Word. One of my favorite is to take Scriptures and confess them over my life. For examp

"Every day I need to make room for the Holy Spirit to speak to me in such a way that my life is a testimony of His grace." (A W Tozer) There is a deep and beautiful connection between the Holy Spirit
