Fear vs Faith – The Battle is on!
Today I’m focusing on one of my favorite Scriptures that deal with fear and anxiety. I’ve heard it preached before that the opposite of fear is faith. If that’s true then the way to fight against our fears is to grow our faith. The more we know about Who God is and what He promises us in His Word, the more our faith grows.
“When I said,’My foot is slipping!’ Your unfailing love, O Eternal One, held me up. When anxiety overtakes me and worries are many, Your comfort lightens my soul.” Psalm 94:18-19, The Voice Version
This coming Sunday I take my final written exam for my scuba certification and then spend the next several hours learning scuba skills in a pool. I definitely have some anxious thoughts about the pool dives, especially since I’ve panicked while scuba diving in the past. Here is one of the Scripture prayers I will be planting into my heart this week…
God, thank You that as I slip under the water Your unfailing love will hold me up. If anxiety starts to rise Your comfort will lighten my soul.
