Facing Discouragement

There will be days when the things we have to face seem overwhelming, even daunting.  We may have held on in faith for a long time when suddenly we find ourselves burned out.  How do we reconnect with our hope?  Where can we tap into renewed strength?

Very often the cause of burn out isn’t due to lack of faith or a flaw in our character.  Sometimes it’s just because we haven’t taken the time we need to get proper rest or haven’t taken the time to let ourselves relax.

I found the following quote on Pinterest and thought it was a good reminder for us.

~ Spiritual Inspiration

When I find myself exhausted and overwhelmed I “tuck myself” in bed early and as I drift off to sleep I pray Scripture thoughts like, “Thank You, God, for renewing my strength”  “I am so grateful that You aren’t overwhelmed, God, and that I can completely trust You with this situation.”  “I am going to rest in the peace that You have promised me.  The peace that passes understanding. Thank You, God, for Your peace.”

Resting in His Word is the best way I know of to be recharged with hope and faith in His love.

In Jesus’ name…
